PRAZZER- kontemporery DANCE

The word "art" is a word that everyone be sure to know him, although with differentlevels of understanding. The legend says that the word art comes from the word"Sani" which roughly translates to "Noble Soul / Sincerity of the soul".

The term 'contemporary' is so often used in discussions of the world Indonesiadance, while the meaning and scope of the definition is never discussed in the discursive. Consequently, the notion of 'contemporary dance' tend to be simplifiedas a term that is already popular, and is between two poles: that all works of art of dance is not for the consumption of popular entertainment, but the shape is also notincluding traditional dance that relies on the grip-grip which already applies a long time. Simply put, the dance works 'contemporary' is not a dance background inevents such as Gebyar BCA or Inul dangdut performances, but also not the kind ofBedaya Ketawang sacred dance or folk dance style dancer jogedan Banyuwangi.

In fact, as a system of knowledge and discourse (discourse), modern dance /contemporary is a topic that has been developing since at least the last hundred years. If you reflect on the discussions that took place at the global level, prior to theterm 'contemporary', the world of dance (especially in Europe and America) firstappeared with the term 'modern dance' - a reference leads to a moment when the creation of artistic dance motivated intention to make the dance as an expression of their spoken language of dance itself. Namely, the momentum when dance is no longer serving the needs outside itself - whether it's the context in the world of ritual,as well as social spaces and cultural - but to serve the dance itself.
